They were the original suppliers of stained glass for Louis Comfort Tiffany before Tiffany started making their own glass. They still make stained glass for restoration work on Tiffany pieces.
The writing on the wall that you see in the beginning of the video is where past workers have signed their name and the date of when they worked there. Since the building is old and the glass making has been going on since 1888, there are a lot of names.....everywhere. If I remember right they told us that it was originally a scissor factory.
The segment where the lady is pulling out a sheet of glass is how they store the sheets of glass. They have aisle after aisle after aisle of beautiful glass.
It's beautiful. It's interesting and you will be glad that you stopped by. Call ahead for tour times or schedule a class in glass blowing, stained glass work, or glass bead making. Bring some extra $$$$ because you will want to buy something....I can guarantee it. We loved it and I plan on going back and seeing it again and maybe even taking a class or two.
